A new product is set to revolutionise the way we work with 3D printers. The Palette represents a small, yet powerful companion for your existing 3D printer. Everyone is thinking of how 3D printers can be taken to the next level; not just because of the fact that the entire equipment is rather expensive and not an affordable purchase, but because nobody had yet created something compatible with all types of 3D printers and add more colour to boot.
The Palette gives you the ability to build, design and create a whole new range of 3D objects on the 3D printer that you already have at home or your office. It gives you the ability of printing with up to four different colours which makes a huge difference in comparison to the simplicity of the ‘older’ 3D printers, where you could only get a single coloured plastic object.
As The Palette gives you an opportunity to experience how amazing it is to create high quality and fully coloured creations, you don’t need to buy a brand new printer; simply skip the whole upgrading process, because its developers thought about the compatibility and made it compatible with any 3D printer. And The Palette has no limits when it comes to colour, which means that you can add in a lot of exotic filaments to your creations and projects.
So if your printer uses an open filament of 1.75mm, if it has access to its feed, and has the ability to run on .x3g or .gcode, then you can be sure to unleash your 3D printer’s potential using The Palette.
The printer is able to extrude multiple coloured layers in order to make objects of varying colours or even create a melded colour which can switch between two colours with different gradients, and even though it does not represent full colour printing (which is, to be honest, expensive and still very difficult to accomplish), The Palette will be the next best thing.
Currently on Kickstarter and having already raised over 140 thousand dollars, surpasing the original goal of 10 thousand dollars, The Palette is the brainchild of Mosaic Manufacturing, a Canadian 3D printing technology company.
Mosaic has this to say about the innovative 3D printer accesory: ” The Palette lets you build an unprecedented range of creations on the 3D printer you already own. The ability to print with up to four colours, or materials with different properties, lets your printer move beyond creating simple, single colour plastic objects”
The machine costs 850 dollars as the early-bird price, and it’s expected to start shipping all around the globe in the beginning of the next year (January 2016, to be more precise). Mosaic Manufacturing presented the device in action in Canada, and the overall impressions were amazing.
Before this device gets shipped, make sure to check out how it works in the video below, as this will surely be worth every penny!
